Local ingenuity
During my time in Shanghai I have continually refrained from gawking and photosnapping at local activity here. I feel like the camera only furthers the distance between me and my surroundings. However, when I saw this I could not help but take a photo.
This guy was carrying this glass-door refrigerator by himself on a standard bicycle. I couldn’t believe how far he was leaning over to compensate for its weight. Somehow he still made room for his legs to pedal.
Again and again I am impressed with all the examples I see of people making due and being clever. Back in the US we could definitely learn from this type of resourcefulness.
